During my life-long journey through different “self-growth” models I’ve had an opportunity to explore a pattern that I’ve seen repeated many times: In that pattern there appears to be a teacher bringing new insights or new tools into a group of people. Then, within that group, there crystallizes a subgroup of “advanced students” you could say who then more or less repeat the original ideas brought by the teacher. Guess who would be one such “advanced student”.
Now there can be lots of wonderful reasons to create such repetitions, they can be interesting and supportive in many ways, and it can also become quite boring and lifeless after a while – and I’m not in the mood to analyze any of it.
But I am in the mood to share the joy that can be experienced once you’ve so to speak “digested” what you’ve learned and it becomes but part of your own wisdom, based on your actual experiences, something that you are living and expressing in your own way.
Terrence and I talked about it today, as part of our “relationships lab “. From there a feeling arose: a joyful, simple realization of how unique each of us is and what potential there is – for those who are inspired to and enjoy it – in, rather than elegantly repeating what is there already, to create their own unique version of it, based on their special areas of interest.
Now while I so enjoy my own version of the awakening journey, and even if I have been recommending and sharing the busting loose path as part of my business game, at the end of the day I really don’t feel any need for the world to be more enlightened or more awakened or more busted loose. It’s perfect as is. My enjoyment of relationships with other people – other expressions of consciousness – does not depend on how their journey looks in terms of “self-growth”, “phase 1 or phase 2 ” or any such thing. So there really is no need to spread the word or even adapt it – unless of course your own inspiration and creativity takes you there.
Yet, when having this conversation with Terrence, I found myself almost envisioning a whole lot of people mixing and melting the busting loose work (or any other model or path and set of tools) with whatever else they love doing (be it gardening, politics, painting, engineering, teaching, sports, healing – anything!) – into their very own wonderful, unique creation. It felt like endless possibilities! It felt so vibrant, so colorful, so exciting and joyful!
The enjoyment was in having a taste of the sheer creativity of it. It was an experience of savoring and celebrating differences, of the amazing creative uniqueness in all that we’re doing, including our many paths to awakening.
So, if you feel like playing with the busting loose work (or any other work) as part of your business game or vocation game, I feel like encouraging you as me to recognize – open up to – explore – appreciate your individual potential here. You as I have so much more to give than just repeat what’s there already. Playing with your own unique expression is such fun!
